1. Eligibility
Minimum age for self-drive rentals: 21 years.
The driver must possess a valid Indian driving license (LMV) and Aadhaar or any government-issued ID.
Taxi bookings require valid ID proof of the lead passenger.
2. Vehicle Booking & Payment
Advance booking is mandatory for outstation travel due to limited road access and permit restrictions in some Northeast regions.
Full payment must be made before the start of the trip.
A refundable security deposit is required for self-drive vehicles.
Charges include a fixed kilometer limit, GST, and standard insurance. Excess kilometers will be charged extra.
3. Self-Drive Vehicle Use
Vehicles are not permitted to cross state borders (e.g., Assam to Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, etc.) without prior approval and special permits.
Fuel is not included. The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as at pickup.
Any damage due to rough terrain, off-road driving, or negligence will be charged to the renter.
The user is responsible for any fines or challans incurred.
4. Taxi Service Terms
Toll, parking, ILP (Inner Line Permit), and border entry fees (if applicable) are chargeable separately.
Additional charges may apply for night travel, hilly terrain, and waiting time beyond 30 minutes.
Trip extension is subject to vehicle availability and prior approval.
5. Permits & Restrictions
Certain states (Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram) require Inner Line Permits (ILP). It’s the traveler’s responsibility to obtain ILPs unless included in the package.
Vehicles are not to be used for commercial or political purposes.
Self-drive vehicles are not allowed in some sensitive border or wildlife areas. Check with us before planning routes.
6. Cancellation & Refund
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup.
50% cancellation fee for cancellations within 24 hours.
No refund for early returns or unused rental hours.
7. Roadside Assistance & Emergency
Basic roadside assistance is provided within operational areas (Assam, Meghalaya, parts of Arunachal).
In case of breakdown or accident, notify Chalo Apni Rides immediately at the emergency number provided.
Insurance covers only standard damage; user negligence or illegal use voids coverage.
8. Liability & Responsibility
Renters are responsible for vehicle safety and must park in secure areas.
Chalo Apni Rides is not liable for loss or theft of personal belongings.
Any damage due to accidents, floods, landslides, or reckless driving will be charged after evaluation.
